Couture through time
Today killing some time I went to the Paris Haute Couture exhibition at The Hotel de Ville, a beautifully curated collection of more than a century of dresses labelled under the prestigious “appellation”. A journey through time passing from pioneers like Paul Poiret and Worth, going to Dior, Madame Gres (my favorite), Balenciaga, contemporary ones like Lacroix and Alaia, Paco Rabbane and of course the ones that are still running today like Chanel, Valentino, Givenchy among others. The exhibition honors both the creativity of designers and their amazing teams or “petits mains” specialized in the most complex skills that become the bridge between a drawing or idea to the actual dress to makes us all have Cinderella dreams. All photos are with instagrams I am not sure I was allowed to take pictures! But I can’t help it :).
Be skilled,
Love,
Yavidan
