For this years editon of Vestirsi da Uomo, partnered with the acclaimed international fashion journalist Angelo Flaccavento (who I admire personally!) to curate the special installation that would be displayed at the same time on, where you could purchase each of the items chosen, the first time this was done. He was cosigned to choose the pieces he thought where essential in the closet of the modern man. Choosing some sartorial items from established brands and others of emerging names. Click here for all the details on those brands take a tour here, it is worth it, very cool names to follow and  maybe put in your wardrobe. To launch the installation during Pitti 83 Federico Marchetti the president of Yoox and Angelo Flaccavento hosted a very interactive and interesting panel with some of today’s fashion opinon leaders , , Nickelson Wooster, and L’Uomo Vogue Editor Gianluca Cantaro, that discussed about the future of fashion in the internet, e-commerce and innovative ways to engage the consumers. A very enriching experience indeed to listen the thoughts of these men that have a step in advance of what is going on in fashion today. It is a fact the more we advance in the internet era, the more creative we will have to be, to tell our story, engage our consumers and stay alive and profitable, actions like this are an example of this creativity, creating a very unique merchandising and offer. It is sure we will see more of this kind of installations in the future, shopping for clothes like art is quite appealing.

The detail I loved, the book prepared for the event, Thinker, Dreamer, Consumer, written by Angelo Flaccavento and illustrated by Diego Soprana. A group of texts and images that put together thoughts about, fashion, style and a little touch of philosophy, you can see it as a classy manual.

These kind of events is what makes Pitti so prestigious, it is a place where latest innovations are launched and discussed by the leaders of the sector, a place od creation, innovation and getting a glimpse of the future. Can’t wait for June!!
