Silence of the Lambs

As I was reviewing the different collections of L’oreal Melbourne’s FW Fashion Week that just took place last week, I found this very creative Aussie : Toni Maticevski or Macedonian origins. Maticevski launched his label in 1999 after being an intern at Donna Karan and has won several awards among the International Fashion Design. Of all the collections I checked out seems to be the one that has more personality and craftsmanship in the dresses. A romantic feel and complex construction of the dresses give his collection an Haute Couture air that has characterized him since his beginnings. I loved his fall winter collection, specially the chiffon dress that was put together by various pieces (photo 2) and that Silence of the Lambs effect with the butterfly’s in the mouth during the last walk of the girls. I think these touches really give an interesting/original spark to collections, giving them more personality, little accent that has been missing in the collection lately. I was glad to have my Saturday morning discovery.

Ok, my favorite is the “butterfly on the lips” photo above. Completely awesome!
