Chanel Fall Winter 2012

Mineral Chic

Today was the Chanel show which in some way it is very exciting but at the same a little sad because it means fashion week is coming to an end :(. The Chanel show is always one of the most coveted ones, because everybody wonders what will Karl do, each season, weather it is a huge Lion, a garden o La Place Vendome, he always finds a way to excite his fans. As always I think is the show where people go best dressed and loyal to their brand, a parade of shoes, bags, scarfs, dresses, camellias and  beyond is everywhere. Major celebrities attend in this case it was Katy Perry, Alicia Keys, Virgnie Ledoyen, Peter Marino, among others. This season he created a set that gave us the impression of a gigantic mineral stone (Amathyst), with huge crystals in black and purple, he must be thinking of me I know it, it is subconscious ;), he even wore a purple suit and gloves, when he always is in black, blue marine, grey but never purple! . But the big question is…. How was the collection?. I think it was quite beautiful and versatile in color, textures and volumes, it is not like other seasons where sometimes there is a more strict palette of colors. As always he played with the codes of the House, but I with some innovations, long green tweed coats (simply superb, look at the picture before the end), some coats and dresses had colorful appliqués that embellished the jackets in very original way, that where inspired in cubism art. I found that Karl used more color than usual this season, he went in some cases a little bolder, going aways from the typical pastels or simply dark colors. Of course lets please not forget the amazing shoes with an asymmetric cut and the transparent heel, that is not just invented, c’est deja-vu but it looked really dazzling.

Be Plausible,

Love,

Yavidan
