Yesterday evening the expectation was big at the Oscar de la Renta show, as recently announced John Galliano would be the artistic director.  The expectation was between the clothes and of course the presence of Galliano himself that through all his precedent years he has been part of the show itself. On the side of the clothes, they did no disappoint, you can feel both the codes and values of de la Renta, but also some of Galliano himself (both in his brand and Dior). The first look I would call it Christian de la Renta as I really see both. but as the collection evolved the feeling left and became Oscar de la Renta, even though when we came to the night gowns the sleek satin velour looks reminded me of the pick years of Galliano’s own brand. As for the second expectation Galliano did not come out, who knows if he will, but for the moment this is a great milestone to heal his fashion career.

Be Inspired,
